Furniture designed:
Jointly by Anne Marston and Michael Brown of Northcroft.
Specification:
To extend the elegance of the hotel buildings using contemporary furniture with traditional references. The furniture to be clean and well proportioned, tailored to fit the room sizes. Rich timber to be an integral element of the design. Furniture to be durable and long lasting .
Design solution:
We specified Ash furniture with Myrtle Burr inlays, cross-banding and black lines. All items with solid ash wood framing, rounded in generous proportions. Antique style bronze handles referenced with the rich colouring of the Myrtle Burr.
Construction:
All the furniture was solid wood lipped, with joints machined deep for strength. Veneers, solid wood and laminates were personally selected by Northcroft to ensure the ambience of the rooms was enhanced.
Installation:
The furniture was delivered in two stages. The fitted wardrobes that were fitted into recesses were installed. Then the free-standing items were delivered the day after carpets were laid.
This is an elegant hotel with a gracious air to it. Marston Hotels and Northcroft are very pleased with the result.
